Man arrested in incident at convenience store

Police arrested a Baltimore man on drug charges Tuesday after a 7-Eleven clerk called police to complain about a trespasser, county police said.

Tearen Clifton Melvin, 34, of the 2800 block of Seamon Ave. was charged with trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An employee of the store in the 4000 block of Ritchie Highway called police shortly after 3 a.m. and told them a man in the store had refused to leave.

When police arrived, the man was walking out of the store. An officer recognized him as someone who had been banned from the store previously.

The officer arrested the man for trespassing. The man tried to throw away a pipe, police said.
