Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.

Central District

Suspicious fire: At least one firefighter was injured yesterday battling a two-alarm house fire in the 1100 block of Argyle Ave. that may have been set deliberately. The fire, reported at 5: 40 p.m., extended into an adjoining dwelling and was under control in less than an hour.

Southwestern District

Burglary: Computer equipment valued at $2,000 was stolen Wednesday from the Maryland Office of Employment Development in the 2500 block of Wilkens Ave.

Assault: A man was near his home in the first block of Wickham Road Wednesday when another man assaulted him. The victim was treated at St. Agnes Hospital for head and shoulder injuries. A suspect was being sought.

Western District

Burglary: Property of unknown value was stolen yesterday from a house in the 2500 block of Druid Hill Ave.

Northwestern District

Bank robbery: A man robbed the First National Bank in the 5700 block of Wabash Ave. yesterday.

North Point Precinct

Burglary: More than $200 was stolen from an office and the snack bar and nearly $300 in coins was taken from several vending and video game machines at the Edgemere Bowling Lanes in the 6800 block of North Point Road Wednesday.

Theft from vehicle: Stereo equipment valued at more than $2,000 was stolen Wednesday from a pickup truck parked in the 2000 block of Bear Ridge Road.

Theft: A mountain bike valued at $400 was stolen Wednesday from the hallway of an apartment building in the 1000 block of Earlton Ave.

Burglary: A videocassette recorder and several beer steins, all valued at more than $500, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 6800 block of Dunbar Road.

Parkville Precinct

Burglary/arrest: A man was arrested Wednesday after he entered a house in the 3700 block of Double Rock Lane and allegedly assaulted the occupant. John Fuchs, 45, of the 4000 block of Parkside Drive was charged with burglary and assault.

Burglary: Someone entered a house in the first block of Bennway Wednesday while the occupants were attending a funeral and stole three videocassette recorders and a telephone.

Towson Precinct

Burglary: Two 8-foot ladders valued at $200 each were stolen Wednesday from Stoneleigh Elementary School in the 400 block of Pemberton Road.

Stolen car: A 1991 Acura Legend with partial tags 7309 was stolen Wednesday in the 7300 block of Brightside Road.

Burglary: Property valued at nearly $70 was stolen Wednesday from a room at the Towson East Motel in the 1500 block of E. Joppa Road.

Robbery: Two men robbed the Steak & Eggs restaurant in the 6900 block of York Road on Wednesday night.

For the Record

Suspect arrested: Steven Bernard Shipley, 28, of no known address was arrested yesterday on Clifton Avenue in Baltimore City on a warrant charging him with the first-degree murder of John Fitzgerald Brown, 32, of the 4700 block of Bonnie Brae Road. The victim was shot during a robbery at his home on Feb. 22.
