Woman may have jumped from vehicle

A Reisterstown woman may have deliberately jumped from a Jeep Tuesday as it crossed the Liberty Road bridge at the Baltimore-Carroll County line, state police said.

Earlene D. Huber, 46, of the 200 block of Greenview Ave. was lying in the middle of the road when troopers arrived at the scene about 8 p.m., said Capt. Greg Shipley, a state police spokesman.

Huber was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where she was in critical condition yesterday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

A witness told police the Jeep's driver tried to put the woman back in the vehicle but drove away when the witness approached him.

Police said Barry J. Zulauf, 40, called from an Eldersburg shopping center and said he was the vehicle's driver. Police released Zulauf and are calling the incident an apparent attempted suicide.
