A three-vehicle accident in Clarksville yesterday morning left a 46-year-old Prince George's County woman in serious but stable condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Howard County police said.

Edward Ronald Burton Jr., 34, of the 1800 block of Altovista Ave. in Baltimore was driving a Ford Club Wagon van south on Route 32 and crossed the center line, said Sgt. Steven Keller, a Howard County police spokesman.

Police said Burton's van collided with a Dodge Caravan driven by Jacqueline Litten of Northwood, Ohio, who was traveling north on Route 32. Litten was not injured.

After hitting Litten's van, Burton's van continued south in the northbound lanes and collided with the right side of a Ford pickup truck, police said. Andrea Camp of the 19000 block of Aquasco Road in Aquasco, a passenger in the pickup, was taken to Shock Trauma.

Two passengers in Burton's van and another passenger in the Ford pickup were treated at hospitals and released.
