Line on tickets: Phone is an option, too Queuing up at stadium isn't only way to purchase

Fans started lining up at the Memorial Stadium Box Office as early as Wednesday night to buy Ravens tickets, but others will have virtually the same chance of getting them by using TicketMaster when individual game tickets for the regular season go on sale at 9 a.m. today.

Fans buying at the stadium do avoid TicketMaster's service charges. Orders through TicketMaster PhoneCharge (410-481-SEAT) have a $3 per ticket charge and a $1.25 per order handling fee. Orders at area TicketMaster outlets have a $2.50 per ticket charge.

"Someone in the front of the line [at the stadium], it's going to be jTC very hard for them to get shut out," said Roy Sommerhof, Ravens director of ticket operations.

Six thousand tickets are available for each of the eight regular-season home dates. There is no limit to the number of tickets fans can buy for each game, but fans may purchase tickets for no more than four games.

"If they're going to purchase more than four games, we want to sell them season tickets," Sommerhof said.

Tickets are available in the $17, $25 and $35 price ranges.

"We expect a great demand for a number of our games, first and foremost the Sept. 1 game, the season-opener against the Oakland Raiders," Sommerhof said. "We're just trying to make it as convenient for people as possible. We'll try to accommodate everyone's needs as long as we can, as long as tickets last."

The stadium box office will accept cash, Visa or MasterCard but not checks, he said.

For fans wishing to buy tickets for more than four games, fewer than 1,000 season tickets are still available. Call 1-888-919-9797 for season ticket information.
