Teen held, others sought in slaying of city woman, 64

Police arrested a suspect, issued a warrant for another and sought two others in the fatal shooting of a southwest Baltimore woman, police said yesterday.

Elizabeth Jones, 64, was shot in the chest about 10 p.m. Tuesday by one of several men fleeing her home in the 2100 block of Hollins St., police said. She died at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

It was not known why the men were in her house.

Yesterday, Kauthar Adamson, 17, of the 2400 block of W. Lombard St. was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and a firearms violation in Jones' death, police said. He was being held without bail at the Central Booking and Intake Center.

Antwan Turnipseed, 21, of the 400 block of S. Augusta Ave. was charged in a warrant with first-degree murder and a handgun violation in the crime and was being sought, police said.

No information was available about the remaining suspects.
