Police arrested a Severna Park man Monday and charged him with stealing more than $350 worth of electronic equipment from the Glen Burnie Wal-Mart.

Welford Elroy Keemer, 24, of the first block of Whites Road was charged with felony theft.

A Wal-Mart security guard called police to the store in the 7900 block of Crain Highway about 8: 30 p.m. after he stopped a man for shoplifting.

The guard told police he saw the man pick up two scanners from store displays and hide them in his waistband tucked under his shirt. The man walked out of the store, where the guard detained him until police arrived.
