Auto dealer's plan for new building is approved

The Howard County Planning Board has approved Apple Ford's plan to construct a 10,000-square-foot building for its used-vehicle and fleet sales departments behind the main dealership on Stanford Boulevard, just off Snowden River Parkway in east Columbia's Owen Brown village.

Chip Doetsch, director of operations, said the dealership also plans to add a new lot on 1.8 acres to allow for more customer parking and stock.

Long Reach: 7100 block of Old Waterloo Road: Someone took unspecified property from a residence after cutting a lock between July 23 and 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Long Reach: 8700 block of Old Annapolis Road: Someone entered the audio room at Howard High School by removing a ceiling tile. A broken window also was found.
