Annapolis woman accused of shoplifting $200 in goods

August 07, 1996

Police arrested an Annapolis woman Monday on charges that she stole nearly $200 worth of T-shirts, tops and pants from Hecht's in the Annapolis Mall.

Kerrianne Garafola, 20, of the first block of Cornhill St. was charged with theft.

A Hecht's security guard called police shortly before 6 p.m. after he stopped a woman he said was shoplifting. The woman picked up two T-shirts, tops and pants from the women's department, took the items to a fitting room and stuffed them into her purse, police said.

She then walked out of the store, police said, where the guard stopped her, recovered the items and held her for authorities.
