Housesitter is robbed in attack by visitors

August 07, 1996

A Pasadena man was attacked at a friend's home Monday by men who then stole more than $1,100 worth of items, county police said.

Brian Richard Norfolk, 32, received a bruised face and leg in the attack, but he was not hospitalized.

Norfolk told police he and a friend, Rachael E. Lawall, 23, of Glen Burnie were housesitting for a friend in the first block of Brookfield Road in Pasadena when a female acquaintance came to the house with three men shortly after midnight.

Lawall invited the woman in and the men followed her, police said.

The woman began arguing with Lawall and Norfolk and two of the men pulled out wooden sticks and began beating Norfolk on his head and legs, police said.

The third man walked around the house and took Lawall's bicycle, portable stereo and compact discs.

The men and the woman left in the woman's car, police said.

The victims told police where the woman lived, and an officer went to the house and saw wooden sticks in plain view in the woman's car but no one answered the door at her home, police said.

Police were still looking for the three yesterday.
