Padres: Six-time batting champion Tony Gwynn, who has missed more than a month with a slightly torn right Achilles' tendon, may return this week.

Phillies: Pitchers Sid Fernandez and Mike Grace will go to Clearwater, Fla., for injury rehabilitation. Fernandez, on the DL since June 24, has a sprained ligament in his left elbow. Grace, who is out for the season with a strained right shoulder, will work out to help strengthen his shoulder. . . . Ten Phillies have made their major-league debuts this season.
