Cashell Lassie gains close win at Pimlico

Favored Cashell Lassie scored a half-length victory over Garden Street yesterday at Pimlico in the $53,025 Toddler Breeder's Cup.

Cashell Lassie, Maryland-bred and owned by Dumberton Farm, defeated five other 2-year-old fillies to remain unbeaten after two races.

Cashel Lassie paid $5.80, $3 and $2.10. Garden Street paid $3.40 and $2.10. Fancy Fred paid $2.10 to show.

The morning-line favorite Clandestine Caller was scratched early yesterday.
