I'm Reading. . .

August 04, 1996

I have a special love for short form so it's usually not too hard to steal minutes from the day to open an anthology such as "The Pushcart Prize." I'm also enjoying Banana Yashimoto's "Lizard," short stories with magic and spirituality woven through gritty reality.

I've also been reading some of the local literary publications that were available at Artscape, such as "Dancing Shadow Review," "Maryland Poetry Review" and the chapbook of Artscape short story award winner Elizabeth Mary Larson. Powerful words in these pages. The personae and characters breathe.
