Man assaulted and robbed outside of convenience store

A man was assaulted and robbed outside of a Columbia convenience store Tuesday night, police said.

According to police, the man was walking home from the Royal Farm Store in the 5800 block of Stevens Forest Road at midnight when he was stopped by three males. One asked the victim if he had a match, and when the victim reached into his pocket, he was knocked to the ground.

The robber, who was wearing a white headband or bandanna around his head, took money from the victim's pocket, police said. The three people fled in a dark-colored domestic vehicle.

Long Reach: 6600 block of Allen Lane: A side door was entered between 6: 30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday, and a VCR was taken.
