Extended 'Sunsets'

Calling all animal lovers! Due to the tremendous popularity of the Baltimore Zoo's Safari Sunsets, the program has been extended through August.

Every Saturday evening this month from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., guests will have the unique opportunity to spend an evening after hours with the animals. In addition to sharing sunsets with some truly wild friends, visitors of all ages can sample diverse foods and refreshments while enjoying the music of steel drum bands.

The Baltimore Zoo is in Druid Hill Park, one mile off I-83 at Exit 7. Free parking is available. Regular hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $7.50 for adults, $4 for children ages 2-15 (children under 2 are admitted free) and adults 62 and over. Call (410) 366-LION.

This Saturday, the Baltimore Symphony will close out its 1996 Summertime Concert Series at Oregon Ridge with a Family Fun and Fireworks program.

Concertgoers will enjoy a fireworks display accompanied by musical pieces ranging from Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf" to selections from popular movies such as "Jurassic Park" and "Pocahontas."

Oregon Ridge is located at 13401 Beaver Dam Road, off I-83 at Exit 20B. Tickets for Oregon Ridge concerts are $12 in advance and $13 at the door for adults; $6 for children. For more information or to purchase tickets by phone, call (410) 783-8000.
