Christmas gifts

Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church is trying a new twist on an old theme. Each year in December, the church collects toys and games for children and teens to be handed out with the Christmas baskets.

But the collection comes at the same time people are being asked to contribute to several funds for food baskets and other holiday charities. This year, the church invites you to bring new toys, games and gifts for children and teens during the month of August.

Mark them "Toys for CAP" and leave them in the hallway outside the church office. The church will provide boxes for collection points and store them until Christmas.

Those who can't to get into the Christmas spirit when temperatures are in the 90s, still may bring toys in December.

Please consider this way of sharing your blessings with those less fortunate.
