Sketch of car theft suspect released Burning automobile contained body of woman shot in the head

Police investigating the shooting of a woman found dead in a burning car in Laurel July 6 have released a sketch of a man suspected of stealing the car in Prince George's County a few days earlier.

Howard County police described the man as black, 18 to 22 years old, between 5 feet 7 and 5 feet 11 inches tall, and weighing 140 to 180 pounds. He has a slender build and a light-to-medium complexion.

The unidentified woman was found shot in the head after residents at the Seasons Apartments in the 9700 block of Covered Wagon Drive reported a car on fire. The white 1996 Honda had been stolen July 2 in the Temple Hills area of Prince George's County from a Suitland resident.

Police are looking for information about the victim, described as black, 18 to 40 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 110 to 130 pounds, with a shoe size of 8 wide.

Police have no reports of anyone missing who matches that description, said Sgt. Steven Keller of the Howard County Police Department.
