After weeks of speculation, the War Department announced that Camp Meade will be held as a military reservation in case of future need with one infantry regiment left to police and protect it. -- The Sun, July 27, 1921.

The Washington, Baltimore and Annapolis Railroad, which owns the railroad bridge over the Severn, is putting a new draw in its bridge at a cost of about $120,000. It will take six weeks to install. -- The Sun, July 28, 1921.

Semi-pro baseball is showing strength on both the Eastern and Western shores with a post-season series likely. Johnny Wilson's Vagabond Club at Annapolis is among the top clubs. Salaries run as high as $65 a week and expenses. -- The Sun, July 31, 1921.
