Six Md. firms rank among 300 largest residential sellers

Six Maryland companies are among the country's 300 largest residential real estate brokerage firms, according to the trade publication National Relocation & Real Estate. In addition, two firms that do business in the state are the second and third biggest home sellers in the nation.

Timonium-based O'Conor, Piper & Flynn ranked 12th by participating in 17,545 residential transactions, either as the listing or selling broker or both, with a sales volume of more than $2 billion.

Other Maryland Realtors on the list are Coldwell Banker Grempler Realty Inc. of Towson, 57th, with 6,107 transactions; RE/MAX 100, Upper Marlboro, 61st, with 5,807 transactions; Champion Realty Inc., Severna Park, 155th with 2,428 transactions; RE/MAX Columbia of Columbia, 204th with 1,854 transactions; and RE/MAX Realty Group, Gaithersburg, 255th, 1,396 transactions.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage of California was the top brokerage firm with 100,465 transactions and $19.4 billion in sales.
