Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.

Central District

Bank holdups: Two downtown banks were robbed yesterday of undisclosed sums of money by men, one of them armed, who gave tellers notes demanding cash. Robbed at 1: 05 p.m. was the American National Savings Bank in the 200 block of N. Liberty St. At 11: 28 a.m., the Signet Bank in the first block of St. Paul St. was robbed.

Burglary: Cash and property, all valued at more than $1,100, were stolen yesterday from a house in the 700 block of Reservoir St.

Burglary: Cigarettes, cash, beer, wine and state lottery tickets, all valued at more than $300, were stolen yesterdayfrom Y.G. Parks, Inc., a store in the 1400 block of Argyle Ave.

Northeastern District

Burglary: Tools valued at more than $500 were stolen Tuesday from a shed in the 3700 block of Elmley Ave.

Northern District

Burglary: A 12-foot ladder and two shovels were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 5000 block of Harwood Ave.

Shooting: A man was shot in the back in the 2200 block of Guilford Ave. on Tuesday. The victim was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Western District

Theft/arrest: A 50-year-old man was arrested Monday, suspected of attempting to leave McCrory's department store in the 2400 block of Liberty Heights Ave. without paying for personal hygiene items valued at more than $100.

Southwestern District

Burglary: Lawn-care equipment and tools, all valued at more than $2,000, were stolen Tuesday from a garage in the 4700 block of Edmondson Ave.

Burglary: Jewelry and electronic equipment, all valued at more than $1,000, were stolen Tuesday from an apartment in the 2200 block of Tucker Lane.

White Marsh Precinct

Burglary: Property valued at more than $200 was stolen Tuesday from a house in the 100 block of Hallfield Court.

North Point Precinct

Stolen car: A blue 1990 Hyundai with dealer tags 1A50968 was stolen Tuesday from T & M Used Cars in the 3800 block of North Point Blvd.

Garrison Precinct

Burglary: A videocassette recorder and a television, all valued at more than $600, were stolen Tuesday from the bedroom of an apartment in the 3600 block of Paskin Place.

Woodlawn Precinct

Stolen vehicle: A man took a 1994 Toyota 4-by-4 with tags 1A61698 for a test drive Tuesday and did not return it to Fox Chevrolet in the 6600 block of Security Blvd.

Wilkens Precinct

Burglaries/arrests: Police arrested a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man who are suspected of entering at least three storage sheds in the 1700 block of Carroll Ave. on Tuesday and stealing lawn-care equipment and tools. The property was recovered.
