Annapolis youth robbed making night deposit

July 23, 1996

An Annapolis youth was robbed Friday by a masked man who jumped him as he tried to make a night deposit for the ice cream shop where he works, county police said.

The youth, Kahlil Johnson, 17, left the Baskin-Robbins store in the 2100 block of Forest Drive shortly before midnight, headed for a Bank of Maryland branch in the 2600 block of Riva Road with the deposit, police said.

When he stepped out of his car and approached the drop, a masked man approached him and told him to turn over the bag. The man forced the youth to the ground, took the bag and ran away, police said.

Police did not have a detailed description of the thief.
