Woman charged with theft of items from Nordstrom

Police arrested a Washington woman Monday on charges she stole $360 worth of merchandise from Nordstrom in Annapolis Mall, county police said.

Michelle Maria Miles, 40, of the 800 block of 21st St. N.E. was charged with felony theft.

A Nordstrom security guard called police to the store about 4: 30 p.m. after she saw a woman pick up a ring from a store display, put it in a small Nordstrom gift box and take it to a cash register vTC where she asked the clerk for a refund. The clerk gave the woman $86, police said.

The woman later picked up a watch from a display and dropped it into one of her shopping bags. She then selected three bras from a display and concealed them in the bags, police said.

The guard stopped the woman as she left the store, police said.
