Group in favor of balancing budget to meet

THE CONCORD Coalition, a nonpartisan organization that promotes a balanced federal budget, meets at 6: 30 p.m. today at the Broadneck Library.

Josh Milton, the coalition's Maryland coordinator, will moderate the discussion.

Happy anniversary to Doug Diehl, whose red and white striped )) canopy in the Village Shopping Center parking lot has marked Severna Park's favorite location for fresh fruit and vegetables for years.

Summer sale

This week, the Severna Park Discovery Shop is having a hot summer sale: 20 percent to 75 percent off summer clothing and 25 percent off wedding dresses. The shop, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and until 7 p.m. Thursday.

Women's meeting

At the Wednesday meeting of the Annapolis Women's Network, Sandra Bearden of Bear's Den Image Consulting will reveal how to "Look 10 Pounds Thinner and 10 Years Younger." The cost of the 5: 30 p.m. cocktail party is $5.

The county library's summer reading program continues to entertain youngsters.

Musicians Terry Leonino and Greg Artzner will perform at the Severna Park Library at 10 a.m. and 11: 30 a.m. and 2 p.m. July 25.

Musical duo Magpie and Mandy the Clown will appear at the Severna Park branch at 10 a.m. and 11: 30 a.m., July 31.
