Music fest in Philadelphia

The Independence Blue Cross Singer/Songwriter Weekend boasts two days of nonstop live entertainment this weekend on the Great Plaza between Market and Chestnut streets in Philadelphia. The performances are free and feature some of the newest and hottest talents in eclectic music today.

Scheduled to perform on Saturday are Cheryl Wheeler, Nil Lara and Jonatha Brooke and the Story. Sunday's lineup includes Francis Dunnery, the Iguanas and Rosanne Cash. A crafts marketplace and children's area will also be available.

The show features 116 miniatures craftsmen from 28 states, Europe and Canada. It is sponsored by the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts.

The show is Sunday at Crystal Gateway Marriott, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway in Arlington, from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for children. Proceeds are to benefit Washington Children's Hospital. Call (703) 920-3230.
