'Dream' takes Diz Stakes

July 14, 1996|By FROM STAFF REPORTS

Goldminer's Dream, the 6-5 favorite in the $60,000 Mister Diz Stakes yesterday after it was switched from the turf to the main track, rallied from fifth and won it by a neck at Laurel Park.

The change from the turf to a main track labeled "good" caused six scratches in the six-furlong Mister Diz, but eight horses ran and Goldminer's Dream earned his first stakes victory in a year.

Goldminer's Dream paid $4.60, $3.40 and $2.10. Wise Dusty returned $5.80 and $3.20, Scrub Brush $2.40.
