Woman found dead in Arundel creek was gagged, drowned

July 13, 1996|By FROM STAFF REPORTS

An unidentified woman whose body was found floating in Spa Creek, anchored by a large rock, Thursday morning was gagged before she was drowned, the state medical examiner said yesterday.

An Annapolis man and his son found the body while crabbing in a boat near a pier in Truxtun Heights Park. Annapolis police said the woman's hand had been tied to a large rock and that her body showed "obvious signs of trauma."

As of yesterday afternoon, police had not identified the woman. They said no recent missing persons reports fit her description.
