July 12, 1996

A Westminster teen-ager was involved in a three-car accident Wednesday afternoon, when he attempted to accelerate out of a gas station across Sullivan Road, state police said.

Michael R. Rubin, 16, of the 600 block of Geneva Drive, pulled his 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier out of an Exxon station to cross Sullivan Road to Hahn Road about 5 p.m, according to the police accident report.

The Cavalier struck a 1995 Subaru Legacy driven by Esther M. Iglich, 45, of the 600 block of Skyline Way, that had entered Sullivan Road from Route 140 and pushed it into a third vehicle that was stopped at Hahn Road, the report said.

Iglich was treated and released from Carroll County General Hospital.
