Odenton man thrown down, robbed outside of liquor store

An Odenton man was robbed of $45 Monday by an acquaintance who assaulted him outside a liquor store in the 1600 block of Annapolis Road, county police said.

Johnny Elbert Mack, 38, of the 100 block of Pine Cove Ave. told police he was at Fort Liquors about 7: 30 p.m. when a man he knows only as Marcus approached him, grabbed him by the neck and knocked him down, police said.

The man reached into Mack's pocket, took his money, then got into a white Mazda 323 and drove off on Route 175 toward Jessup, police said.

Police did not have a detailed description of the culprit.
