New positions

1st Urban Fiber names Barney director of sales

Hagerstown firm 1st Urban Fiber Barney announced the appointments of Steven C. Barney as director of sales and William E. Bryant as materials manager. Barney, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, was a director of sales for Tembec Inc. in Canada before joining the company. Bryant, a Hagerstown resident, was formerly purchasing manager with Michigan Paperboard Co.

Shane E. McMahon, formerly a projects engineer with Union Camp Corp. and Norman L. Smeltzer, a former senior projects engineer for Scott Paper Co., were named team leaders. The Columbus Center Brown has selected Judy Brown for the position of director of education. She had been program coordinator with the center's science and technology education unit. A certified general science and biology teacher in the Montgomery County public school system for 23 years, she has written several professional articles and books and has received numerous awards. The Silver Spring resident earned a master's degree from George Washington University. Callahan & Co. announced that award-winning art design director Kate Cogswell has joined the agency as senior art rTC director. A fine arts graduate from the College of Art & Design in Detroit, she was with Siquis Ltd. before joining the Baltimore design / ad firm. The firm named Christopher W. Wynd an account coordinator. He is a Towson State graduate.

Seigel, CPA with law degree, is Adelberg, Rudow associate

Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf, Hendler & Sameth named Evan Seigel to the firm as an associate attorney. A certified public accountant, he is a graduate of the New York University School of Law with a master's degree in tax law.

McCrone engineering picks Roman for Annapolis office

McCrone Inc., the Annapolis engineering consulting firm, chose Mary E. Roman as a project manager at its Annapolis office. She will manage water resources, environmental and civil engineering projects. An engineering graduate of Pennsylvania State University, she has extensive experience in water resources engineering and storm-water management design.
