FREDERICK -- The Frederick Keys blew a four-run lead in the top of the ninth, then rallied with two in the home half to out-slug the Kinston Indians, 10-9, last night at Grove Stadium.

The Single-A Carolina League game was delayed 1 1/2 hours at the start by rain.

Wady Almonte's single to center field scored Eric Chavez with the winning run after Chavez had singled home Johnny Isom to tie the game against Indians closer Lenny Weber (1-3).

Kinston mounted its tying rally in the top half against Alvie Shepherd and Francisco Hernandez, with Hernandez hitting Guillermo Mercedes with a pitch that put Kinston ahead 9-8.

Frederick took an 8-4 lead into the ninth.
