Arnold man arrested on drug charges

July 03, 1996

County police arrested an Arnold man Sunday on drug charges after they found him asleep in his car on a southbound lane of Ritchie Highway at College Parkway and found the remains of marijuana cigarettes in the car's ashtray.

Dana James Luyk, 24, of the 800 block of Windsor Road was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police were called to the intersection shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday by someone complaining that a 1988 Ford parked in a left turn lane was obstructing traffic, police said. When officers arrived, they found the driver asleep in the car and spotted what later tested positive for the remains of marijuana cigarettes in the ash tray, police said.

Police also found a pipe on the dashboard and arrested the man. They searched him and found two bags of what tested positive for marijuana, police said.
