Crainmont Circle man arrested on drug charges

County police called to break up a Glen Burnie bar fight Sunday arrested a man on drug charges.

James Monroe Durm, 36, of the 7900 block of Crainmont Circle was charged with possession of marijuana, illegal possession of Valium, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and Valium, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police went to the Loft bar in the 7900 block of Crain Highway about 11: 30 p.m. After they broke up the fight, a customer told bar owner Chad Lane that another customer had offered to sell him marijuana and Valium, police said.

About that time, a second fight erupted outside the bar and the suspected drug dealer went to watch, police said. Lane told Officer Andrew Klausing and Officer Daniel R. Rodriguez about the man trying to sell drugs and the officers also went outside to speak to him, police said.

One of the officers asked the man if they could search him. When he hesitated, the other officer asked whether he was carrying drugs, and he admitted he had marijuana in his pocket, police said.

They arrested the man and found two bags of what tested positive for marijuana and a bag of nine pills of what tested positive for Valium, police said.
