A young Columbia woman was assaulted and robbed early Saturday on her way to meet someone at an Ellicott City high school, Howard County police said.

Angela Wise, 18, of Tricross Drive in Columbia's Long Reach village was not seriously injured, said Sgt. Dave Richards, a police spokesman.

According to police, Wise left her home about 2 a.m. Saturday to meet a friend at Howard High School in the 8700 block of Old Annapolis Road.

When she arrived at the school, someone dressed in a Halloween mask punched her in the face. A second person took $200 from her pocket, Richards said.

One of the robbers removed his mask while fleeing into the darkness with the other person, but Wise was unable to give complete descriptions of the pair, police said.

Police are investigating, Richards said.
