Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes in Baltimore city and county.

Eastern District

Shooting: A 17-year-old youth was talking on a pay phone in the 1200 block of N. Gay St. about 3: 40 a.m. yesterday when a car pulled up with two men inside. The men got out of the car, robbed the youth and one of them shot him in the right leg. The youth was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was in good condition.

Northwestern District

Shooting: A 33-year-old man was shot in the upper right thigh early Sunday during an argument with another man in the 3500 block of Virginia Ave. Police said the victim was in stable condition yesterday at Sinai Hospital. No arrests have been made.

Armed robbery: A man between 30 and 35 years old entered a Kmart store in the 5700 block of Wabash Ave., displayed a handgun, told the cashier to be quiet and demanded cash. He escaped with $635.

Western District

Shooting: A 19-year-old woman sitting on a corner in the 500 block of W. Preston St. was shot, apparently by a stray bullet, yesterday morning. Police said the woman heard several shots and began to run. She felt a pain in her knee and discovered she had been hit, police said. She was in good condition yesterday at University of Maryland Medical Center.

Southern District

Stolen auto: A Toyota with Maryland tag 595 AKW was stolen from the 1100 block of S. Charles St. between 7: 30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday.

Burglary: Someone entered a second-floor window in a house in the 300 block of S. Woodyear St. between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday and took two poker machines, value unknown, and an unknown amount of cash.

Wilkens Precinct

Robbery: An 18-year-old man was robbed of $20 about 11 p.m. Friday when three men jumped him as he walked along Westland Boulevard near Maiden Choice Lane.

Robbery: A 26-year-old man was jumped by two men shortly after 2: 30 p.m. Saturday and robbed of his wallet as walked along Wesley Avenue near Roberts Avenue. The man was not injured in the attack.

Woodlawn Precinct

Burglary: An intruder entered a home in the 6000 block of Moorehead Road through a rear side bedroom window between 2 a.m. and 10: 30 a.m. Saturday and left through the front door, taking nothing, apparently scared off by a motion detector.

Attempted armed robbery: A woman was approached by a man Sunday about 10 p.m. outside her home in the 3300 block of Lynn Haven Drive. The man tried to rob her but the woman was able to get inside her home and the suspect ran away.

Towson Precinct

Stolen car: A 1994 Plymouth Sundance was stolen from the 7700 block of Hillendale Ave. about 10 a.m. Sunday.

Cockeysville Precinct

Theft from auto: A cellular phone was taken from a car in a parking lot in the 100 block of Shawan Road between 3 p.m. and 9: 45 p.m. Friday.

Burglary: Someone broke into an office of the Baltimore County Department of Health in the first block of W. Aylesbury Road about 3 a.m. Saturday and took $50 and a cash box.

Burglary: Someone broke into a storage locker in an apartment complex in the 300 block of Lord Byron Lane between June 23 and Saturday and took a bicycle, value unknown.

For the record

Homicide victim identified: Corey Hairston, 22, of the 5700 block of Moravia Road died Sunday morning of wounds he suffered in a shooting Saturday. Police said Hairston was walking in the 5700 block of Bowleys Lane about 7: 30 p.m. when a man fired several shots from a passing car. Hairston was struck in the right thigh and right shoulder. He was pronounced dead at 7: 45 a.m. Sunday at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
