25 years ago (week of June 27-July 3, 1971):

Two hundred guests attended a dedication ceremony at General Electric's Appliance Park-East in Columbia. Guest speakers included state and local dignitaries, as well as local business luminaries and civic leaders.

50 years ago (week of June 23-29, 1946):

C. Ferdinand Sybert of Howard County was elected to the office of vice president of the Fifth Judicial Circuit at the annual meeting of the Maryland State Bar Association. (Also at this meeting, a constitutional amendment was passed to admit women attorneys to the bar.)
