June 28, 1996

A Payless ShoeSource in Annapolis was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash Wednesday by two men, police said.

Just after 8 p.m., the men entered the store in the 2300 block of Forest Drive. The first man told the manager he had a gun and ordered her to put the money from the cash register in a shopping bag.

The second man ordered another employee to the back room, where he forced her to lie face down while he searched the room, according to police.

The first man took the manager to the back room and made her lie next to the other employee. Both men left the store and ran toward Hearne Court and Riva Road. A search of the area failed to locate the bandits, police said.
