Civil War Heritage Days

A living history encampment, band concerts, lectures, book and collector shows, a Civil War train ride and fireworks are part of the 14th Annual Gettysburg Civil War Heritage Days, which are being celebrated Saturday through July 7 in conjunction with the 133rd anniversary of the historic battle fought in Gettysburg, Pa. The nine-day event is geared to families as well as the serious student, historian and Civil War buff.

Musical entertainment, children's activities and performances, a festival marketplace, living exhibits, a horse show, fine wines and gourmet food await those attending the fourth annual Nelson County Summer Festival this weekend at the Oak Ridge Estate, Route 653, midway between Charlottesville and Lynchburg, Va.

Festival hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults in advance and $8 at the door. Free for ages 12 and under. Call (800) 282-8223.
