June 26, 1996

Two out-of-state motorists had more than $30,000 worth of items stolen from their cars parked at a Linthicum hotel Sunday night or Monday morning, county police said.

The first victim, from Mechanicsville, Pa., told police that someone broke into his 1992 green Chevrolet van at the Double Tree Hotel in the 1300 block of Concourse Drive.

The victim, who discovered the break-in about 8: 30 a.m. Monday, said more than $30,000 worth of camera and video equipment were missing from his van.

About 30 minutes later, the second victim, from Stratford, N.J., told police that someone removed about $110 worth of items from his 1995 Subaru car also parked in the lot.

The victim said a wallet, a handbag and a men's polo shirt were missing.
