Man steals cash register from Jessup gas station

A man who implied he was armed stole a cash register from a Jessup gas station early yesterday, Howard County police said.

No one was injured in the robbery in the 8700 block of U.S. 1, police said.

About 2 a.m., a man entered the front door of a small store at the Crown gas station and approached the clerk with his hand tucked in his pants as though he were armed, police said.

The suspect took a cash register from the counter and ran, police said.

The robber was described as a black male, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. He had short black hair and wore brown pants and a red, white and blue striped shirt, police said.
