GLEN BURNIE -- A 15-year-old boy died Saturday of injuries he received when he was pinned beneath several steel carts in a delivery truck he was helping his father unload, Anne Arundel County police said yesterday.

Police did not release the youth's name.

According to police, the father and son had just finished unloading supplies about 4 p.m. at the Checkers Restaurant in the 1400 block of N. Crain Highway when the accident occurred.

The teen's father told police that he left the truck for a few minutes and when he returned he found his son beneath the carts. Restaurant employees helped free the youth, who was taken to North Arundel Hospital, where he died, police said.

The Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
