Torch update: Nancy Schultz, the widow of slain Olympic wrestler Dave Schultz, carried the Olympic torch yesterday morning as it left Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

Update: Russia's top Olympic official complained about conditions for the Atlanta Games yesterday, citing everything from the heat to a lack of training schedules for swimming and yachting. "There is a big difference between promises of the organizers before the Olympics and real conditions," said Vitaly Smirnov, who said Russian athletes also were concerned about overcrowding at the Olympic Village and poor conditions at the cycling track.
