A Glen Burnie man and a Crownsville woman were killed Tuesday when their car turned into the path of a sport utility vehicle at Benfield Boulevard and Veterans Highway, county police said yesterday.

Suzanna A. Reid, 19, of the 1000 block of Tudor Drive in Crownsville was pronounced dead at the scene. Philip A. Beard, 19, of the 200 block of Poplar Road in Glen Burnie was taken to North Arundel Hospital, where he died from head and chest injuries.

Beard was driving a 1987 Honda Prelude east on Benfield Boulevard shortly after 10: 30 p.m. when he tried to turn left onto Veterans Highway in front of a westbound 1995 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer driven by Philip S. Scott, 34, of Springfield, Va., police said.

The Blazer struck the Honda on the passenger side and both vehicles slid through the intersection, coming to rest on the northwest side of the intersection. Reid was thrown onto the road.

Scott was treated at North Arundel Hospital and released.
