Segment of Route 100 opening Saturday

June 19, 1996

The State Highway Administration will open another portion of Route 100 on Saturday. The portion will run from Interstate 95 in Elkridge to Route 295 in Anne Arundel County.

The 2.5-mile section will be open to traffic by midafternoon.

The opening will allow motorists to use the new MARC Dorsey station on Dorsey Road, scheduled to open July 1.

Until traffic signal work at U.S. 1 is complete, detours will be necessary for motorists traveling from westbound Route 100 to southbound U.S. 1 and from southbound U.S. 1 to eastbound Route 100. Route 100, from I-95 to Interstate 97, is scheduled to be completed in the fall.
