2 restaurants closed 17 are cited

County health inspectors visited 149 restaurant and food-handling establishments from May 16-31 to monitor sanitary and physical conditions for nine food safety items. Two businesses were closed because of emergency circumstances:

Big Kat Nat/Kelly Seafood, Telegraph Road, Severn. Closed May 21, no hot water. Reopened the same day.

Boardwalk Fries, 7900 block of Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie. Closed May 21, no hot water. Reopened the same day.

Seventeen establishments were cited for critical food safety violations, which were corrected. Some required reinspection: Black Eyed Pea, 7900 block of Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie. Food not held at proper temperature.

Popeye's, 5300 block of Ritchie Highway, Brooklyn Park. Food not held at proper temperature.

Crystal Hunan, 2200 block of Defense Highway, Crofton. Food not held at proper temperature.

Rocky Run, Marley Station, Glen Burnie. Food not held at proper temperature. Reinspection required.

Vie de France, Marley Station, Glen Burnie. Food not adequately cooked or reheated. Re-inspection required.

Au Bon Pain, Annapolis Mall, Annapolis. Food not adequately cooked or reheated; food not held at proper temperature.

Magothy Seafood, 700 block of Mill Creek Road, Arnold. Food not held at proper temperature; potable hot and cold water not available.
