Presbyterian concert series to offer Ragtime Ensemble

The Second Presbyterian Concert Series will offer the Peabody Ragtime Ensemble from 3: 30 p.m. to 5: 30 p.m. Sunday at Second Presbyterian Church, 4200 St. Paul St., Baltimore.

Goods and services will be up for bid at a silent auction to benefit the Chesapeake Habitat For Humanity and Heifer

Projects International.

Hebrew Congregation senior rabbi to retire

Rabbi Murray Saltzman will retire at the end of this month as senior rabbi at the Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, 7401 Park Heights Ave.

Saltzman's final service at 8: 15 p.m. June 21 in the main sanctuary will be open to the public.

A farewell reception to recognize the contributions of Saltzman and his wife, Esther, and their commitment to the temple and the Baltimore community will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 23 in the Straus Social Hall.

Youth, adult choir to sing at Baptist church

The Maryland Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship Youth and Adult Mass Choir will perform at 7 p.m. today at First Mount Olive Free Will Baptist Church, 290 N. Fremont Ave., Baltimore. Admission is free.

Lutheran Brotherhood contest won by Williams

Molly Williams was recently named district winner of the Lutheran Brotherhood's 1996 Speak for Yourself writing competition.

In a letter, she discussed "Women's Rights: Why the Miss USA Pageant is Wrong." Williams is a student at Baltimore Lutheran Middle and Upper School. She received a Savings Bond and a certificate at the Eighth Grade Service of Affirmation at First Lutheran Church in late May.

The certificate was presented by Cynthia Parrier Johnson, president of the Lutheran Brotherhood's Charm City Branch 8821.

Baptist churches to hold Full Gospel conference

The Maryland Full Gospel Baptist Churches of Maryland will sponsor the first Full Gospel Maryland State Conference Monday through Wednesday at New Psalmist Baptist Church, 4501 Old Frederick Road. The theme will be "A New Day, A New Vision."

Registration is $10.

Congregation Kneseth Israel plans Jewish music concert

The sixth annual Evening of Jewish Music will be held at Congregation Kneseth Israel at 7 p.m. June 23 at the temple, 1125 Spa Road, Annapolis.

Avi Albrecht, the newly appointed cantor of the Beth Tfiloh Congregation in Pikesville and Cantor Yehoshua Redfern of Kneseth Israel will perform.
