2 women accused of massage parlor violations

June 13, 1996|BY A SUN STAFF WRITER

ODENTON -- County police raided a house in the 1300 block of Burlington Drive yesterday and arrested two women charged in a warrant with violating massage parlor laws.

Officer Tom Jones said Courtney Jean Mota, 30, of the Burlington Drive address, was charged with operating an unlicensed massage parlor and possession of marijuana.

Stephanie S. Ayers, 26, of the first block of Duchess Court in White Marsh in Baltimore County, was charged with administering massages without a license.

Bail information on the pair was not available.

Officer Jones said a bill passed by the County Council in 1994 required both massage parlors and those providing massages to be licensed.

He said neither woman was licensed.

Officer Jones said the arrests followed a month-long investigation into possible massage parlor violations at the house after neighbors complained of heavy male traffic at the dwelling.
