Kiwanis Club of Odenton plans bake-sale benefit

THE KIWANIS CLUB of Odenton will conduct a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in front of the Super Fresh Store in the Odenton Shopping Center. The profits will help pay for the club's community service projects.

The club meets at 7 p.m. Mondays in the club building at 1363 Becknel Ave. People over 21 who want to learn more about the club, are encouraged to attend the meetings.

Christian women to meet

The Christian German American Women's Group will celebrate its first anniversary at noon Monday in the blue room of the Chapel Center on Rockenbach Ave. at Fort Meade. Women 18 and older who are interested in the German language and culture are welcome to share Christian fellowship and music.

Father-daughter banquet

Faith's Community Church has scheduled a father-daughter banquet at 6 p.m. Saturday in the church hall. Bring a main dish and a salad or dessert to share. For more information, call Kim Laubert at 410-360-0284 or Bill Patterson at 410 -674-6742.

Painting window screens

The O'Malley Senior Center will sponsor a workshop in the old Baltimore tradition of painting window screens with scenes. The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday. Instructor Kathy Kniess will conduct this workshop for experienced art students.

Seminar on small businesses

The West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a seminar called "Loans and Alternative Financing for Small Businesses" from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. June 26 at the Citizens National Bank, 517 Main St. in Laurel.

Participants will hear from a panel of specialists. The program will include a question-and- answer session, and handouts will be available.
