Church selling anniversary brunch tickets

TODAY IS the last day to purchase tickets for St John Lutheran Church's 80th anniversary brunch.

The catered brunch will take place next Sunday in the social hall after a special worship service at 10a.m.

The brunch menu consists of fried chicken, meatballs, roast potatoes, salads, cake and soft drinks.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children age 10 and younger. All former members are invited.

The church is at 226 Washburn Ave. Information: 355-7295.

Anniversary party

Roland Terrace Democratic Club will have a 23rd anniversary party from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. June 23 at Democratic Hall, 619 Matthews Ave.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. For tickets, call Virginia Uzialko at 789-2013 or the club at 636-1504 after 7 p.m.

Step up to summer

Stay in shape for the summer. The county Department of Recreation and Parks will offer a step-training program at Belle Grove Elementary School from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. beginning June 17.

The school is at 4502 Belle Grove Road. Information: 956-1084.

Final exams

North County High School final exams for the second semester are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Two two-hour tests will be given each day. School will be dismissed Let 11:55 p.m. There will be no lunch.

The last day of classes for elementary and middle school students is Wednesday. Schools ,will dismiss two hours early.

Break time

Two community groups have announced that they will take a break from meetings this summer.

Members of the Arundel Improvement Association, 705 Cross St., will gather one more time at 8 p.m. Thursday before going on vacation.

William Blanchet, president of Curtis Creek Recovery Systems, will discuss the proposed recycling plant at Curtis Creek and Stahl Point Road.

The Belle Grove Improvement Association will resume meetings

in September.
