100 years ago The Naval Academy cadets will leave next week from Annapolis, on their summer cruise. The Monongahela will go to the Madeiras and the Bancroft will make a coastwise trip. Communication will be by carrier pigeons. -- The Sun, June 8, 1896.

Governor Lowndes, his wife and family left Annapolis today by train for Cumberland where they will remain during the summer. -- The Sun, June 25, 1896.
