Glen Burnie woman charged with theft, drug offense

County police arrested a Glen Burnie woman on theft charges Tuesday after she was accused of refusing to pay her bill at a Ritchie Highway Holiday Inn.

Susan Parks, 37, of the 200 block of Hammerlee Road was charged with theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officer Stefanie L. Samler was called shortly after 7: 30 a.m. to the motel in the 6300 block of Ritchie Highway, where the general manager was holding a woman who refused to pay her bill of $351 for a two-night stay.

Police arrested the woman, found three homemade pipes in her purse and filed the drug charge, police said.

Woman accused of stealing clothing from Sears store

Police arrested a Glen Burnie woman at a Sears store on Ritchie Highway Tuesday on charges that she stole $43 worth of clothing, county police said.

Tracy Rodgers, 24, of the 100 block of Spencer Road was charged with theft.

Kevin Floyd, a security guard for the store in the 6600 block of Ritchie Highway, told police he saw a woman on a store video about 6 p.m. taking three shirts and two pairs of shorts from displays and put them into a Macy's bag she was carrying.

Subway employees forced into freezer by robbers

Two men -- one armed with a handgun -- forced employees of a Laurel Subway restaurant into a walk-in freezer Tuesday and robbed the store of an undisclosed amount of money, county police said.

An employee was taking trash out of the back door about 11: 30 p.m. when the armed man ordered him to the ground and the others into the freezer.

The men took money from the registers, put the other clerk into the freezer and left, police said.
